Stayed here for 3 days, thoroughly enjoyed the hotel, it was fairly clean with great location by the ferry. Location: the property was so close to historical Stone Town, the beach and the promenade, and especially the night market. There was a gourmet restaurant nearby. The staff was charming and lovely, nothing too much trouble. The breakfast was satisfactory and the food was appetising.

The rooms were beautifully decorated with intriguing furniture, and mine even had a balcony with a great view of Stonetown. I loved the attention to detail, like the shower facing the bed. Great heritage property with authentic rooms and traditional furniture. Rooms are spacious, cool and have all the amenities you need. Loved the balconies offering stunning views of the city. Convenient location, walking distance from landmarks and shopping areas.
The prices at the on-site restaurant were high compared to the portions and quality of food. Service was extremely slow and inconsistent.

During our stay at Zanzibar Palace, we were captivated by the charm and authenticity of the old world architecture and interior decor. The grand suite we stayed in, Kijani, transported us back to the 1900s with its traditional furnishings and ceramics. The staff, especially Iddi and Jamila, were incredibly friendly and helpful. They took us on a walk around the area, recommending coffee bars and gourmet restaurants. The hotel owner, Daniela, even organized tickets for us to experience local musicians at the nearby music hall. The location of the hotel was perfect for exploring Stone Town, with attractions such as Darajani Market, Forodhani night market, and the Palace Museum all within walking distance. The personal assistance provided by Daniela, including accompanying us to a government department, was truly exceptional. I highly recommend this hotel for a unique experience of Zanzibar town.
